About

I'm Max Plush, a surf photographer and filmmaker from New York City.

Growing up, every winter I'd visit my abuela and abuelo in Rincón, Puerto Rico, and spend a few days surfing. In high school I worked at surf camps in Rockaway and Virginia Beach, getting groups of kids into the water.

In college I ran the Claremont Surf Club for the five Claremont Colleges, a community of over 8,000 students, organizing beach shuttles and teaching beginners to surf. Then I moved to Santa Monica, and I've been surfing Sunset Beach, Venice Pier, Latigo, and Third Point.

On September 28th I fly to Costa Rica to start a trip through Central and South America, reconnecting with my Puerto Rican heritage, improving my Spanish, and documenting the journey in photos and film. The trip ends in Puerto Rico with family. Follow along on Instagram.
